Certificate GOST R

Certificate GOST R

The GOST R certificate of conformity is a document designed to confirm that products or services of a certain kind comply with the norms, requirements and standards in force in the state for goods included in a single list.

Most commodity items in the Russian Federation must undergo compulsory GOST R certification. Despite the fact that the technical regulations of the Customs Union are now in force, GOST R certificates are still issued for many types of products. A certificate of conformity may be required for serial production of products or equipment as well and for one-time production of the party. Imported goods must also undergo an independent examination, the purpose of which is to confirm the conformity of the qualitative characteristics of the product with the current regulatory acts.

Differences between GOST R and TR CU certificates

Certificate of Conformity TR CU GOST R certificate
It may additionally require the issuance of an expert opinion, a certificate of conformity of the safety instrument or other documents under certain conditions prescribed in the regulatory act
It can be issued for the manufacturer or for a batch of delivered and transported goods
Equivalent to GOST R certificate At the expiration of the validity period, it must be replaced by a certificate of TR CU
The products are checked for compliance with TR CU The goods are checked only for compliance with GOST R

Advantages of having GOST R

Most business entities engaged in commercial activities on the territory of the Russian Federation sooner or later have to issue a GOST R certificate, since without it some goods are forbidden to be produced and sold within the country. In addition, the presence of this document provides the manufacturer of the goods with such advantages:

  • Increased competitiveness in its market segment;
  • Attracting a greater investment flow;
  • Consumer confidence building;
  • Increasing the interest of contractors and potential business partners;
  • Opportunity to participate in tenders held by state organizations;
  • Issuance of licenses according to a simplified scheme;
  • Expanding opportunities to develop new markets (including foreign ones).

In the end, do not forget about confidence in the quality of our own products or services. Many entrepreneurs decide to take risks only because their product will withstand competition and receive a certificate of conformity.

Obtaining GOST R certificate

GOST R certification is mandatory for some types of products, while for others it can be done on a voluntary basis. The initiators of this procedure are most often the entrepreneurs themselves, although in some cases they are government agencies and public organizations. There is a list of goods and services that are subject to mandatory certification. For the rest of the products it will be enough to receive a letter of rejection . The issuance of the document is carried out after studying the prototype, laboratory tests.

To obtain a GOST R certificate, you need to collect a package of documents and write a statement, after which you can contact a certification center. For mass production, the applicant must have a certificate of registration of a legal or natural person, a copy of the TIN, the charter of the enterprise, a full description of the products and standards that govern the standards for its production. Such a certificate will be valid for 1-3 three. The operation is the same for both domestic manufacturers and foreigners. In this case, laboratory tests must be carried out in order to determine the conformity of the declared indicators with standards and norms.

In the case of certification of a batch of goods, the package of documents is almost the same as for serial production. Such a scheme is most often used for trial deliveries, as well as in the sale of equipment.

The supply of imported products under the contract is possible only subject to the availability of a certificate of conformity. The representative of the company in the Russian Federation to successfully pass the certification procedure must provide copies of the contract, certificate of registration OGRN and TIN, description of the commodity position, a copy of the charter of the enterprise. This type of document is valid for a year.

Types of GOST R certificates

GOST R certificates are divided into two types: mandatory and voluntary. Accordingly, they are executed either at the request of the manufacturing company, or at the direction of state structures. The list of services and goods for which it is mandatory to obtain a certificate of conformity is constantly updated, therefore, before starting the procedure, you need to familiarize yourself with it.

GOST R voluntary certificate

Voluntary certification is possible for products that are not included in a single register. Manufacturers decide to obtain a GOST R certificate of conformity in order to increase consumer confidence, because of the opportunity to participate in government tenders.

Obligatory certificate of GOST R

Mandatory products are necessary for products that are included in a single list. If a commodity item is presented in this list, then its production in the absence of a certificate of conformity will be illegal.

After passing through this procedure, a special mark can be placed on the product, which confirms that the commodity position complies with current standards and state standards of quality and safety.
